THE SKAADLANDS
"The Skaadlands are home to some of the densest, darkest forests in Northbound, consisting of more pine trees than the rest of the map combined. Though that's not to say the land is all doom and gloom. The lake in the west, known as Dragon's Eye, is connected to river, wetlands, and waterfalls all throughout, while the cliffs of the Imana Mountains offer an amazing view of the treetops below."

The Areas
Northern Pine ForestsThe Skaadlands are well known for having dense, dark forests, the most prominent of which can be found in the north. Here even the rivers that run through the area are cast mostly in shadow, and the ground is littered with pine needles. If you follow those rivers to the heart of the north, a large swampy area can be found, where the rivers flood over and many of the trees have fallen due to the soft earth.
Imana Mountains Border
The western border is marked by the edge of the Imana Mountains, which towers above the thick forests which grow partially up it's side. The northern part of the mountain has cliffs which overlook the rest of this region, giving a dangerous but spectacular view. Further south is the entrance to Verthall's southern cave systems, hidden well in the mountainside. The southwest of the Skaadlands is occupied by a small valley, made up on one side by the Imana Mountains and then a smaller, unnamed mountain on the other. The unnamed mountain has a long cave of it's own, butting through it's center, and two waterfalls on either side of it fed by a spring at it's peak. Cutting through this valley is one of the rivers that branches off from Dragon's Eye lake, which passes by one more smaller cave in Imana's face.
The Midlands and Dragon's Eye
If you follow the rivers south, out of the northern pine forests, they will lead you to he Skaadlands' center. Here is where the only real clearings are in the entire land, the primary two in the east and west and both surrounding lakes to some degree. The largest lake by far is one famously called Dragon's Eye, named for the strange, rocky island in the center of the water. A beach gives a clear view of the lake on it's eastern side. The further east clearing also has lakes, three to be exact, and is cut off from Dragon's Eye and it's clearing by a stretch of thick forest. To the north of the three lakes runs a long river, which is also connected to a lake that collects water from three separate waterfalls, all in a row.
East of the River
A southern-flowing river branches off from the larger river in the Midlands, creating a subtle border which divides the thickest forests from the much more navigable woods to the east. A smaller wetland can be found at the fork of these two rivers, and while the southern one flows far beyond the Skaadland's territory, the eastern river continues to flow until it reaches a lake at the far end of the region's border.
