Slithering through the undergrowth, Talena’s eyes were solely focused on the plump rabbit that sat in the small clearing, grooming itself in the largest patch of sunlight that managed to shine through the trees. Tension built in the female wolf’s body, she could feel adrenaline thumping through her veins as she shifted slightly, her lavender gaze never leaving her target as she readied herself to pounce. For a few moments, Talena remained where she was before finally lunging from her hiding place and tearing across the short distance towards the rabbit. She leapt as soon as she felt she was close enough and was fortunate enough to land her mark, her paws hitting the smaller creature and pinning it down. However, actually killing it was another matter.
As Talena urged her canines forward to deliver a killing bite, the rabbit had given a powerful kick which landed in the centre of her nose, forcing her back in surprise. The sudden shock had also caused her to loosen her grip, giving her prey the perfect opportunity to squirm out of her grasp and dart off.
The young she-wolf sat back in annoyance, watching the rabbit scamper away until it had disappeared from her view. ‘Little punk’, she thought, lip curling in irritation. Talena saw no point in chasing after it, in all honesty, she couldn't quite be bothered with dirtying her fur and it wasn't like she couldn’t capture a meal later in the day. Giving her nose a slight wriggle, Talena decided to return to an activity which she was far better at and required less energy - relaxing.
Picking herself up, Talena trotted further into the area until she reached a group of trees. Feeling content with the spot, she lowered herself onto the cool earth and laid beneath the shade of the foliage. This place felt foreign to her and well, it was. Despite being a curious soul, she had never quite ventured further than her homelands border. She didn't really know why. The she-wolf knew she wasn't scared, however, she’d always found herself stopping at the border, never quite straying from it. It angered her, she wanted to see more than what the Arcane Relics had to offer, but every time she went too far, there had always be a surge of guilt. Guilt that she was betraying her duties as guild master. But none of that mattered anymore, did it? She had nothing now. She was nothing to no one. She had no duties but to herself. It was kind of freeing in a way.
With a soft huff the lavender gaze of the female scanned the area before muttering to herself, “Where the hell am I?”
