LUDO
Ludo let loose a fierce yawn as he slowly lumbered through the vast field, searching for something to quell his ravenous appetite... but, oh... he was so sleepy. He never liked waking up so early and was always known to like sleeping in, but he was just so hungry, it woke him right up. Lying down for a while and trying to ignore his hunger pangs did absolutely nothing to help so he had no choice but to get up and look for something. It was really quite awful and the worst part was he’d been walking so long his paws hurt (not that long) and he had to leave his so-comfy resting spot, though it was a peasant’s nest unworthy of his well-bred rump compared to his old bed. Even so… sleeping was nice… eating was as well, but he couldn’t find any carrion to help him scrape by. Not that he wanted carrion (after all, he was royalty and deserved better), but it was easy.
Hmm, perhaps he could try to hunt something? But, agh! Hunting for himself was always such a miserable thing. It was too bad he ran away, otherwise he could just tell a couple of lowborn commoners he was hungry and they would drop everything to get him a meal that was to his liking. Right now, he was craving mountain goat but alas, no mountain goats to be found in a dump like this! Not to mention hunting one alone was not smart, considering their horns.
Rabbit may have to do but… they were so fast and he didn’t feel like panting like a dog. His ears flattened to the growl of his stomach. Håll tyst… he thought as he grumbled to himself. He did not need to hear this rumbling, he knew very well he was hungry like a bear stuffing itself for winter. He carried himself low as he sulked and shuffled on ahead.
Why did he even come down here in the fields? Ludo preferred to stay in the forests, or the rockier highlands, places with far more interesting sights and smells than this. Bah... he trotted along, the grasses feeling dry and lifeless under his paws but not so bad. However, he favored the grasses and wildflowers of the mountains. Ah, there was a mountain not too far from here wasn’t there? Perhaps he would take a look later, now that the memory of the crisp mountain air was making him so nostalgic. He best head up there before winter came, seeing as the mountains, beautiful and noble as they were, were quite harsh and unpleasant during those cold, bleak months.
But this was plans for later... he continued on his path with his head low. The clouds were looking dark and dreary and as if things could not have been worse, it begun to rain. It was only a light drizzle for now, but with those storm clouds looming over the horizon, it would inevitably get worse. Now hungry, cold, wet, and miserable with aching paws and no relief in sight, he'd have to search for shelter... again!
Remind me again why I left my old home...
