DANAE
It was nice to come and chill by the river, especially on a sunny day like this. Maybe the air was a little chilly and a little snow dusted over the ground, but she wasn't complaining. She had more troubling things on her mind than the cold, like everything about her father and how badly she wanted to believe it was all lies. Just thinking about it made her grind her teeth. There was no fucking way, that guy had to have been lying, he had to have been confused, it had to have been a different Leonidas. The warm light shining down on her dark back felt good but did little to soothe her. She needed some kind of distraction... some way to help her just forget about all this bullshit and pretend none of it ever happened, that her dad was as honest and faithful as she thought and everything was okay. If only it were a little warmer, then she'd throw herself into the water and let it all melt away, but it was already starting to get a little too cold for that and the thought of stepping out of the water only to be met with the frigid air made her shiver. Judging by all the scents, it seemed like a lot of different animals passed through here. Maybe even some other wolves too. Hopefully she'd get lucky and meet someone new.
But for now, she was pretty content right here. She emerged from the surrounding forest, golden eyes scanning her surroundings before she padded towards the water and dipped her head down to it. She could faintly make out the shadows of fish lurking underneath, but she never really tried to catch one before... she was mostly just planning to stop for a drink but suddenly fish was sounding really good. What did fish even taste like? Well... she never had it before, but you never know if you like something until you try it, right? And it'd help her take her mind off her troubles so... bonus points.
Her eyes were fixed intently on the water, picking out a murky form lying under the surface, ears tilted forward with interest. Danae waited for a few seconds, until she sprung forward, snapping her jaws but missing her target, getting nothing but a mouthful of water. It splashed all over her head and neck and she had to shake herself dry. She sat there, laughing a little to herself before taking a few steps down the river, looking for another spot in the shallows so she could try again.
She crouched down, watching with even more intent than the last time, her brows furrowing with her focus. She was practically glaring at the water.
