It was snowing. Snow is something Ragnar particularly liked. It provided no way for prey to truly hide from him, for when they walked - their tracks would clearly be seen in the snow.. if it wasn't snowing too hard and he could get there quick enough in time to follow the tracks. Which he could usually always do. If Ragnar was anything.. he was certainly not lazy. He was always taught that laziness allows a wolf to become fat, and useless.
Ragnar loped through the forest, weaving between the tree trunks. The snow came up to his ankles, hiding his paws, which were numb. But he didn't mind it at all. Standing up, he lifted his head to peer out into the Southern Shelt Woods in front of him. His one seeing eye studied the area in front of him. The wind howled, piling up snow in drifts, before calming down again and the snowy dust clouds settled back into their places, covering the tree bark with a glistening white that could only be attained from freshly fallen snow.
It was a bitter day, but it didn't affect Ragnar. Not that much. His thick winter coat blew with the air, and his ears perked. This reminded him strongly of when he and Rollo would be ordered to stand outside in the snow, all night. To keep us from becoming weaklings, that if they couldn't survive something the winter, they shouldn't live at all. And him and Rollo would stand like gargoyles, looking out into the land before them.
"'For å sette pris på snøfnetten må du skille seg ut i kulde.'" Ragnar spoke, quoting something he remembered his mother had told him at one point in time.
