She stopped and shook off her coat as she exited the treeline. After tending to the hurt loner, Xul, she decided it would be best to just leave and continue traveling. She enjoyed the wolf's company, but she needed to find her friends. A stranger wasn't going to cure her need for socialization, she needed her family again. It took her meeting the stranger for her to realize that she really missed her family. With that new found motivation, she started her journey in the middle of the night instead of waiting for the morning. It was risky, but she was willing to take risks.
Off in the distance she heard a waterfall, and made her way over in its direction. All the while, her ears were rotating listening for dangerous and threats. She made her way to the bottom of a cliff that the waterfall ran off of into a small stream. The waterfall echoed throughout the area in the damp night air, covering up smaller sounds around her. She lowered her head to drink from the stream when the fur on the back of her neck stood on edge. She immediately lifted her head and froze.
On the branch above the water laid the one creature she was scared of, a mountain lion. It's yellow eyes seemed to glow in the night as it eyed her down. 'This isn't good...' She eyed different ways of escape, but she had gotten herself trapt. The only way was to go right under the branch it laid on, and that was a no go. The lion growled before making it's way down the tree and on the ground in front of her. She backed up slowly, but the cliff wall was right behind her. This wasn't going to end well. Even though she was completely shaking, she raised her lips into a snarl. The mountain lion hissed, and she backed up even more causing her to further pin herself against the wall. She swallowed.
