KINEK
When the last sunrays of the day kiss the frozen land, when the white's, browns, and occasional sprouts of color melt into grey under the moonlight, that's when the warren empties and the rabbits are out to forage and play, not only the herbivores, but Kinek as well. At the slightest noise, they're up on their hind legs, black eyes staring in more directions than the inexperienced pup could. A pristine, small white rabbit buck was chewing the fresh vegetation, cutting grass and invasive weeds with his sharp incisors.
The cream colored pup approached slowly, using the small indents in the snow as a guide to help cut down on the chance of being heard. The occasional gusts aided with her stealth, not only being downwind but rustling the surrounding branches. Kinek had done this multiple times now, rabbits, mice, squirrels, really anything she could get her paws on. She didn't usually eat them for nutritional value, but instead, she enjoyed toying with them.
Being within just a few puppy strides from the cotton-tail, she lunged forward, aiming for the spine in hopes of paralyzing it. Once the rabbit was disturbed of its peaceful grazing and was now aware of the incredible danger it was in, it attempted to escape, it fluffy tail bobbing as it made a break for the safety of a burrow.
Rather than coming in contact with its spinal cord, its velvet ears found their way inside of Kinek's mouth. The coney scrambled, squirmed, and flailed within the youngster's jaws. The buck furiously scratched at the pup's chest as it dangled from her mouth.
With a firm grip on the thing, Kinek began to shake it rapidly, though to her demise its ears came clean off, the mangled body being tossed into the snow, a deep crimson shade painting the white canvas along with Kinek's fur. Her toy lay in the snow, shock dancing about its entire frame with the occasional twitch though the pup just stared, ears still firmly held in her mouth.
