Issa Dyatlov
It was a nice breezy and hazy morning. The rising sun was covered by a dense layer of clouds overhead, but Issa didn't mind. She was more focused on how cool it was, and how much she missed this kind of weather compared to the heat of summer. For a minute, as she finished up locking her apartment door, she wondered if it might rain. But she was sure she checked the weather app ― a morning routine of hers; she doesn't want to step outside and get poured on, especially with her hair done up ― earlier as she was lounging on the couch with Piccolo. She hopes the weather stays true to the forecast provided to her on her phone; she didn't have an umbrella on her and would hate to get soaked.
She made her way into town in only a few minutes, thankful she chose a place that wasn't too far but also wasn't too loud because of traffic or rowdy on-goers. Her phone was in her hand, displaying directions to the nearest coffee shop. She felt a little stupid using it given it isn't that far away, but she'd only just moved here and hasn't been able to make it out until just now with the craziness of unpacking and getting both her and Piccolo settled in. Her eyebrows knitted together in momentary confusion as she debated on going left or right down the street, paying no mind to the small amount of people roaming past her or the cars that whizzed by.
In the end, it only took her about ten more minutes to find the place. It was cute and cozy, jutting out of the corner of a bunch of connected shops. She made sure the sign said OPEN before heading inside. She was hit with that wonderful smell of brewing coffee and baked goods and hadn't realized just how caffeine deprived she was until she took a nice, quick inhale.
There were only a few other patrons scattered about tables and booths. Not that she really minds crowded places, but she'd really love to be able to grab her coffee and sedate herself in peace. She gave a small smile to the woman behind the counter who greeted her with a happy smile that reached her eyes, all the while she rummaged around her purse until she pulled out her card.
Issa ordered the simplest thing on the menu because reading through all those crazy names and their ingredients was just too much right now. And even though no one was behind her in line, she still felt like a hindrance sitting there and trying to make out what a frappe was. It sounded too sweet for her liking, anyway, so she went with a trusty black coffee.
The barista forked over her drink and her card, along with a receipt, and smiled again before Issa went to sit down at a table near the windows, allowing her to be able to scan the shops for anything that might catch her eye. The cup had a comforting warmth to it and she felt herself mellow out after her first sip; a feeling much needed with all the chaos going on in her life right now. It felt so nice to just sit back and enjoy her coffee.
